Review of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) by Samuel S — 08 Dec 2008
Everything's good in this Capra classic. Jimmy Stewart draws you in with a performance that no one could ever duplicate. Claude Rains is not really bad so much as ambitious and I have a hard time blaming him.
Arnold is the fantastic villain that he always is and Mitchell is fun to see as Diz. Really listen to Smith's speeches. Heart-warming.
