Review of Mr. Skeffington (1944) by K D — 02 Jul 2008
I really think this is Bette Davis' finest roles. From the start I wasn't sure if I should like her character or not, but that's what made her performance so grand. It was interesting to watch her beauty fade, just the opposite of "Now, Voyager" and she really gave it her all after her beauty had faded.
Poor Job Skeffington, that is all I could think throughout the whole film, and Claude Rains did a superb job in the role. What a great story and message the film carries as well.
