Review of Mr. Mom (1983) by Deb S — 10 Apr 2010
"Mr. Mom" is a funny and sweet family comedy that tells the story of Michael Keaton who gets laid off from his cushy job and has to stay home to take care of the kids as his wife (Teri Garr) goes back to work to support the family.
Although Keaton has some problems running the household, he possesses the ability to take simple chores and create disastrous, yet completely laughable, moments and he does not allow the daily advice from the other housewives get him down.
Most memorable moments for me are when Keaton becomes obsessed with soap operas, becomes the sloppy house husband who puts on weight and becomes what he feared most. Meanwhile Ann Jillian sizzles as the couple's next door too helpful neighbor who has got the "hots" for Keaton.
