Review of Mr. Holland's Opus (1995) by Jeremy B — 13 Jan 2009
The greatest of all inspirational teacher movies because it actually shows the processes that Mr. Holland uses to motivate his students and instill in them a love of music. Richard Dreyfuss turns in the performance of his career in the title role, and has superb chemistry with co-stars Glenne Headley, Jay Thomas and Olympia Dukakis.
And the soundtrack will increase your own music appreciation, with great selections by Gershwin, Ray Charles, Jackson Browne and John Lennon.
