Review of Mr. Holland's Opus (1995) by Jason R — 09 Jan 2011
Almost a remake of many teacher of the year films, like Goodbye Mr. Chips.. this one makes one worthy of watching once if not twice, over time, that is.
1995 Academy Award Nominee Dreyfuss, as best actor, is a passionate musician but reluctant teacher. But he instead realizes its the other way round. He actually has a passion for teaching.... for gods sake! PG, so anyone can watch.
Personally, I found this film ok to watch. Not enthralling. Not stunning. Not a real lot of action. It just is inspiring or motivating. High Praise from me. I have yet to watch it twice however, which tells me it did not kick me in the ass as I should have wished.
Well worthy of watching at least once, please.
