Ricky D is more convincing as the older Mr. H than the younger, but he (and the makeup department) do a sensational job overall, he deserved his Oscar nod. The ambling story is hardly dramatic, but the theme is highly valid - sure it is deeply sentimental and manipulative, but this is a wet dream scenario of so many deserving teachers.
