Review of Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation (1962) by Tyler S — 29 Jul 2010
I love Jimmy Stewart and Maureen O'Hara they are both always good in any role and they once again do not dissapoint...the film itself is alright it definitley gets better as it goes...but I have never really liked the whole goofy 60's thing, I think that middle period of the 60's with the cheesy and dopey music, dancing and haristyles is still just as cheesy and dopey as it was back than, no one really seemed very comfortable, it's like everyone who was living in that time didn't want to be living in that time, but enough rambling, I also could see the signs of this fiilms influence on future "family films" with the continuos back in forth mix between "adult thins" and still trying to get a message to the family, which I find to be BS.
...none the less this is still pretty enjoyable, much better than other films of this type to come after.
