Adam Sandler plays a warmhearted simpleton, Longfellow Deeds who inherits $40 billion from a distant relative and has to travel to New York City to get the money. Whilst there he is chased by the press searching for information about the newest millionaire and subjected to all the horrors of the big city! A tabloid reporter (Winona Ryder posing as a school nurse to obtain the inside scoop for her tabloid television show gets close to him to get information.
Many funny lines but I must say that the funniest parts of this film involved the very "sneaky" butler, played by John Turturro.
