Ignore the so-called profession critics. In every aspect, this is a great movie. The politicizing by critics of this powerful tale of relationships that transcend race and culture is deplorable. The stellar acting, directing and storyline paint a picture of love and loss amidst pain and family.

I had a white uncle who lived with us. He was very much a Mr. Church type character. So, to relegate Mr. Church to a racial stereotype like so many critics did is to belittle the portrayal of an admirable Renaissance Man and tourtoured soul because he is black.

The is the worst kind of racial stereotyping. In spite of the race-baiting around this movie from the media critics, it is refreshing to see that the audience loves it because of its remarkable quality and story of redeeming love in a family born of mutual need.

Equally deplorable is the contention that it is condescending and patronizing to make Mr. Church such a remarkable, talented, and giving man. This whole movie is much more inspiring, honorable and unifying than any of the uptight, out of touch critics' reviews.
