Review of Mr. Church (2016) by Mark A — 16 Nov 2016
I just finished watching this film. I got it from Red Box. I hadn't heard anything about it, and it looked interesting. Well, I really did enjoy it overall. There were language and moral elements involved that I could've done without.
That said, I know this is how worldly people talk. The story focuses on friendship over a fairly long period of time. I really enjoyed Eddie Murphy's dramatic role here. He did a very good and convincing job.
I was engaged in the story, and it worked for me. The few critics who bothered to report on it don't know good movie from a hole in the ground. They're so snobbish in their "artistic" interpretations that when a movie portrays characters of real people living life in as normal a way possible, they just can't stomach the fact that it's not artsy enough or whatever their contrived opinion of good movies is.
I found it worth my time and money. Check it out! It's at the Red Box. :).
