Nowhere near as good as The Jungle Book despite some reasonably good visual effects. The telling is just not vital enough. However, the main problem is the disconnect between characters and the actor's voices playing them.
Only Cate Blanchett and Benedict Cumberbatch convince as Kaa and Sher Kahn respectively. Otherwise portrayals are lame and embarrassingly unconvincing.
