Review of Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (2018) by Joseph S — 10 Dec 2018
I thought that Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle was incredible. Up until now motion capture technology has, for the most part, been used only to render humanoid creatures, but Mowgli shows how the emotion and subtle facial expressions of an actor can be translated into even something as non-human-like as a snake.
I was so engaged with the animal's faces that I caught myself unconsciously contorting my own face to match the animal's many times throughout the film. All the actors were beyond superb, the music was beautiful and the story was simple but engaging.
A great adaption of the source material in my opinion and I am very excited to hear that Andy Serkis is adapting George Orwell's 'Animal Farm' next.
