Review of MouseHunt (1997) by Adrian A — 29 Aug 2014
A solid piece of slapstick with lovable characters all around. Nathan Lane steals the show of course, but never to the point that he is overpowering. The entire cast pulls their weight with their contribution to the humor. The premise is simple enough (the two stooges versus Jerry, of the Tom and Jerry variety) and Home Alone pratfalls ensue.
What helps the movie be (relatively) timeless is the soundtrack and art design. The soundtrack is whimsical and hysterical and fits the mood perfectly, and the art design is vague 60s Americana, with only one moment to the contrary. All in all, thoroughly enjoyable.
