Review of Mothering Sunday (2021) by Habibiehakim — 27 Feb 2022
The first 50 minutes of Mothering Sunday is disasterly bad, I like when a movie is straight to the point of the story and not wasting any time, but I hate when a movie was just straight to a one particular character with no characterisation at all, and that's what I feel for Paul and Jane relationship, they just make out out of nowhere, and that's making it me didn't have any feeling for them especially Paul, I have zero care and even any likeness feeling for him, and that whole thing with him and Jane is just pointless and just an awkward position for me seeing them making out and me as an audience still asking "Who the f*ck are you (Paul)", anyway that happen for the first 50 minutes of the film and the rest is just fine, i'm not as crazy as before, I was invested till the end of the film, I enjoying it, I did overall like Odessa Young performance, Olivia Colman is just the best, and so do the rest except of course Josh O'Connor (Paul), so basically Mothering Sunday is a half bad and half good or more of like half ok movie, I cannot go higher because the 50 minutes of the film is just unforgivable and I even plan to stop, it's a 5 at it's best.
