Review of Motherhood (2009) by Birte Valkyrje R — 29 Jan 2010
Much like protagonist Eliza's essay draft, this movie is indeed banal. It suffers from some very weak scripting and lack of focus. Motherhood is not funny enough to be a comedy or moving enough to be a drama, veering from dull to mildly interesting throughout.
Despite that, the acting is generally excellent, with extra praise for Thurman who still has it in her. Only worth watching for fans of newcomer Arjun Gupta, who has a wonderful spot here as a delivery guy.
