Review of Mother and Child (2009) by Tom F — 31 Jul 2010
One of those films that is really well done, but just takes a good 40 minutes to an hour to get going. The acting by all the woman in the film was sensational. The film I thought really dealt with the issues and angles of Adoption quite well, it juggled all the characters round it cleverly.
The characters in the first half of the film where really hard to like, just so negative and selfish, but as the film went you just saw how damaged they where and the film made you have an understanding which I was impressed with Director's choice on how the film panned out.
Instead of being frustrated with them, you go into their battles, and to be honest I learnt alot bout a subject I didn't know much about. To me a good film does that you go on journey with the characters a learn something new ...
