I understand why your average moviegoer wouldn't watch. It's so discombobulatingly weird and makes for difficult viewing. That said, as an allegory for both the nightmare of celebrity and for the the selfish male impulse to feed our egos by draining other people of their love, it is fantastically crafted.
Oh and that whole Bible thing. I found it very thought provoking but not very watchable. I give it benefit of the doubt though.
