Review of mother! (2017) by Felice M — 07 Oct 2017
Midway through this film I completely understood why liberal Hollywood panned it in. They're discouraging people from watching it for good reason. As much as lib critics would like to spell out exactly why 'mother!' bothers them, you wont hear a nary peep due to the true and obvious allegorical references the film draws from.
The 'house' represents America. 'Mother' (Jlaw) personifies the stewards of our great nation in its early glory, always laboring to keep her fundamentally sound, seeking to protect America from corruption. The 'owner' of the house (Bardem) represents misguided elected officials, our politicians who prioritize popularity and obligation to outsiders (foreigners) over the needs of his own wife and home (country). Watch the movie. It's fantastic metaphor illustrating how and why America is being systematically destroyed. 5 stars given on behalf of Aranofsky's balls in producing this liberal-crushing masterpiece, even if unwittingly so. Winner.
Watch the movie and ascertain what that house, Javier, Jlaw and everything else really represents. Why are certain elements of Hwood hell bent on destroying this film?
