Review of Mother (2010) by Augure — 17 Sep 2017
Underwhelmingly disappointing. Aronofsky tried to do a Lars Von Trier movie, with his own usual dash of surrealism and subtle symbolism, but the overall them and plot are bland, overused and even redundant in their unfolding.
Nothing ground-breaking, and behind the voluntarily shocking scenes and unsettling atmosphere set to make audiences uncomfortable, this lacked the romance, vision and interest of pre-Noah Aronofsky movies.
Also once you sell your soul, you can hardly go back so I think I'm done with Aronofsky movies.
