Review of Mortal Kombat (1995) by Brandon H — 01 Jun 2017
This tongue in cheek adaptation of a video game would have been much more effective had it been played straight. As is, it doesn't pull you in, too much time goes by before you get any action, and the entire movie feels like it exists only to get you to watch the second movie.
There is some decent fight choreography (not overmuch, but some), and the good guys are easy to root for. I wouldn't watch it again, but it is harmless entertainment.
