We went to see this today and thought it was excellent. The world-building is truly phenomenal, and there is real heart to the story. Yes there are some changes made from the book, but none that cause problems.
I very much hope that the rest of this fantastic saga will find its way onto the big screen. It does not deserve the low ranking it has got so far.
