Review of Morning Glory (2010) by Joseph G — 23 Feb 2012
I'll confess that at this point I have never seen Broadcast News so I suppose my nearest point of reference for this would be Sidney Lumet's Network. Compared to which Morning Glory is a competent, if slightly 'fluffy' take.
There are elements of critique but nothing compared to the scathing satire of Lumet's film. In many ways Morning Glory is exactly the kind of light entertainment that it is half-heartedly lampooning.
It will entertain for an hour and a half but ultimately it will be forgotten.
