Review of Morning Glory (2010) by Wesley E — 10 Mar 2012
Most of the critics of this film are absolutely clueless. I suggest they get together and take some classes in Theater, film and journalism. The only thing in this film that was hard to believe was that Rachel McAdams character would ever be without a boyfriend.
Not just because she is so pretty, but her character is genuinely kind and charismatic. She runs the show exactly how you imagine she would and the performances from the other stars are definitely believable.
It was almost as if they read my mind when she started doing exactly the things I was thinking would improve the ratings. Exactly the kind of things that might lite the fire to get this program working.
But, most importantly this film does it with excellent cinematography, Mise en scene, and (while maybe not brilliant) at least excellent editing. The soundtrack was good and the film was funny. It wasn't hilarious, but romantic comedies rarely are.
This was an excellent film with excellent performances by excellent actors. I would love to see a sequel that explores the relationship of the two anchors. Played by Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton.
