Review of Moonwalker (1988) by Richard V — 07 Jul 2009
The opening live segment, montage and videos give way to a slight story, which is little more than an excuse to showcase a make beleive world and some impressive late 80s FX and some mopre videos (including Smooth Criminal, the winner, IMHO, of the coolest MJ video ever.
..and the competition is stiff). I remember being enraptured by this as an 8 year old, and it is well made, and in hindsight, an unconventional but enjoyable tribute, so why the low rating? Well, it isn't really a film in the normal sense, and relies on your enjoyment of the music to forgive its basic lack of shape.
So, not a film really, but for Jackson fans of the late 80s music, worth a look.
