Review of Moonstruck (1987) by Jack W — 14 Mar 2010
Very well written, thoughtful and charming film. the acting is very good, though the roles are not seriously substantial. To me it was less about the individual performances and more about the entire cast working well together.
I really liked the direction Jewison took with the film and the art direction/production design was superb. The film successfully gives you an accurate picture of Italian American life in Brooklyn, without having to show Italians in a gangster light.
Sweet and charming, the film works.
