Review of Moonstruck (1987) by Robyn M — 30 Jul 2012

This is a nice Romantic Comedy but I wouldn't call it the best! Yes Cher is surprisingly good in this movie, she won the Academy Award for her role and I honestly don't blame them for giving it to her because she was very good, but other than her I really didn't give a shit about anyone else in this movie.

Yes at times Nicolas Cage can give a good performance but I didn't find he was that great in this movie and same goes for the other co-stars, none of them were really interesting. But Cher was very good in this movie, her performance was fantastic and every scene she was in she just dominated.

As for the storyline in this movie it wasn't half bad, it was a little cheesy but at least it wasn't cliched which a lot of Romantic Comedies are these days. So this movie Moonstruck was only okay for me it was nothing amazing but the singer/actress Cher really surprised me because I always thought she was a shitty actress, but in this movie she really proved me wrong.
