Review of Moonraker (1979) by Ryan T — 11 Oct 2009
Bond movies are not known for their believability but Moonraker just pushes things too far. To compete with the success of Star Wars, they send Bond to space! I can go along with the shuttle flight and even the space station, but laser gun battles with the Marines in space?!? But itâ??s not just the last few minutes that make this so bad: itâ??s all completely over-the-top.
It doesnâ??t start out too bad (for a 70â??s entry) but as it goes on, it becomes more and more noticeable. Bond goes through more gadgets, vehicles and women than any other entry. He just seems to stumble from action sequence to bedroom over and over.
Beautiful locations, beautiful women, Euro-trash villain, but hands-down the worst official Bond movie ever made.
