To the people who are criticizing the acting or the science or the plot, I am sorry, but you just don't get it. This movie was never meant to be some scientifically accurate movie with engaging writing and acting.
It's just a vehicle for big budget badiculous planetary destruction and special effects. Go get super stoned and see it on the biggest screen you can. Then laugh every time an actor reacts in some way that is completely incommensurate with the impeding annihilation.
