Review of Moonfall (2022) by Migdalorguy — 11 Sep 2022
I'm very good at willing suspension of disbelief, and a lover of good sci-fi. This wasn't it. It has taken it's place among my pantheon of bad sci-fi movies, and at this point, it is currently ranking as "the absolute worst" — and believe me, it has to be a real stinker to be even worse than many of the others.
Ludicrous plot, straining credulity for even the most forgiving viewer, and pushing the "science" part of science-fiction so far past the boundaries as to be almost anti-science. Do I believe in the possibility of world-sized mega-structures powered by a dwarf star? Sure.
Do I believe in the possibility of sentient AIs that evolve to the point of seeking to destroy their creators? Sure. But as presented in thi movie, I think it makes the concept of both of thoese extremely unplatable, and does them both an extreme disservice.
The screenwriters should be laughed out of the guild. Kudos to the CGI. That was the only good thing in the film.
