Review of Monsters, Inc. (2001) by Bob S — 13 May 2013
I didnâ??t enjoy watching this as much the second time around as I did when it was originally released in 2001. I was surprised at my reaction and attribute it to a market saturated since 2001 with quality animation and stories/jokes for kids and adults.
The characters will always be endearing as Goodman and Crystal nail the voices and spirit of Sully and Mike Wazowski. But it was the story that didn't have a pulse and it carried on to its expected happy ending.
The concept of having a corporation of monsters working through the night frightening children through their closets is genius. The story is just implausible enough for children that they wonâ??t head to bed afraid of what lurks behind their closet door.
