Review of Monsters: Dark Continent (2014) by Gary W — 19 Jun 2017
I'm aware that something with such minute substance needs dramatic effect. but using dog/alien fighting as a fun sport for these rugged tough marines plus watching a live chicken being killed on screen ( which I believe is illegal? ) At least I thought it was, smacks of desperation beyond the realms of any movie goers imagination. Any attempt of shock value ended right there. Already been done in Apocalypse now many many years ago. weak plagiarism.
If they give this director / producer more work, they'd probably think it's Christmas.
A film more to be judged by its hunky men slapping each other around all manly like and pointing their weapons at each other reminiscent of Top gun locker room scene. It's the kind of film that men would like if they like watching men touch other men. You get my drift.
There is no plot, there is no film. It's a remake to remake money.
Save yours and avoid this, 'actually its about the middle east baddies again.' deluded dirge at all costs.
