Monsters Ball is a story of forbidden love and how quickly life can change in an instant. Monsters Ball tells the story of Hank, his son Sonny and his racist father Buck. When Hank and Sonny are set to execute a man with the electric chair, Sonny throws up and it sparks his fathers rage saying that Sonny ruined the mans last walk. After this begin to unravel for Hank and Sonny, and despite his father wishes Hank actually begins to fall in love with a black girl.

Billy Bob Thornton does not shine. He is average at best and luckily for him there are people around him that can steal the show. Billy does a good job of developing the character into someone different but that is where the role stops for him. Billy doesnt seem to be giving it his all, yet the people around him are pulling off some awesome roles.

Wow is all that can be said About the performance of Halle Berry. She completely earns the oscar with her accurate depiction of sex. The most accurate depiction to be seen to date. Great job, and she keeps it going through out and portrays her charcater with such energy and passion that it at some points makes this film hard to watch. Halle is so good that she almost makes this film seem as though it is a depiction of a real life person and that it is no longer a movie but a documentary where cameras are following her character around. A great single performance and it really is underrated.

Heath Ledger has the second best peformance in the film. He is not in the film for a long time, but his scenes are moving and powerful. He spook his lines with such passion and fury that I almost wanted to break down and cry. He delivered his words with so much emotion and sadness that it sent a chill down my spine when I watched this performance. Heath Ledger is a brilliant actor and his performances will live on for many years to come.

Peter Boyles performance was brilliant. He acted to the best of his ability. He has done many works, but probably none as accurate and heart wrenching as this one. He played a dieing elderly man not willing to change his racist ways even after it destroyed his family and took away his grandson. Peter Boyle is awesome, he plays his characters with such belief and enthusiam.

Monsters Ball is heart wrenching, it plays on morals and beliefs, and the idea of a families being driven apart simply because they have a different way of viewing a situation then the rest of there family. Monsters Ball is unique, its slow paced, its awesome, it delivers its point, so much so that by the end of the film you will be left in tears. Monsters Ball is probably one of the best acted films that I have watched.

The story Devlops like our lives do, noone ever knows what is going to happen next, all we can is hope we have taken the right steps to help make for a better future.Monsters Ball is a good film and is not meant for everyone, only watch it if you are looking for a film with a strong message and a good story and some wonderful acting,.
