Review of Monster's Ball (2001) by James M — 22 Mar 2015
A very good drama, mellow yet intense. I somehow tend to forget to consider it along with "American History X" as a great example of a movie about overcoming racism. the movie relies heavily on tone and atmosphere that either sucks you in or bores you.
with me it was definitely the first.
