Review of Monster Brawl (2011) by Peter P — 21 Jul 2012
I took a look at a Canadian indie movie called MONSTER BRAWL. As a former wrestling fan and a life time gamer I always hoped wed see a video game like this well instead some on made it a indie movie were 8 classic monsters fight to the death in an explosive wrestling tournament set inside an abandoned and cursed graveyard. The idea of the movie seems good but I found the movie a bit boring its shot kind of neat so its like you watching a real wrestling event but instead of people its classic inspired monsters. And before each âmatchâÂ? stars you get a small back story of both creatures witch is the one of the best parts of the movie I just wish they were a bit longer. The other thing I could not stand is they had a mortal kombat style move calling witch took away for the movie. The only cast you may know of is: Dave Foley (kids in the hall), Kevin Nash (wrestling superstar/champion, grandmas boy & the longest yard), Herb Dean (ufc referee) and the legendary wrestling manager The Mouth Of The SouthÂ? Jimmy Hart. This movie was made for around $200,00cnd and is shot nicely and the set and make up was good for a shoe sting budget but Id like to see what the director Jesse T. Cook could do with a bigger budget but as for MONSTER BRAWL unless you want to watch a wrestling B-movie passâ¦..cheers and happy watchingâ¦I watch crappy movies so you dont have too.
3.5 out of 10.
