Review of Monsieur Verdoux (1947) by Nathan G — 09 Sep 2007
One of the darkest black comedies I have ever seen. Chaplin does it again with his unique style of wit, adding some very dark levels of creepiness that are unlike the Chaplin we are used to, plus we even get some rare tramp reunion moments.
Very political and some well made points in the film, despite not totally agreeing with all that is said, Chaplin shows off his liberal thinking quite nicely.
