Review of Monsieur Hulot's Holiday (1953) by Joelle S — 16 Jun 2007
This film is one of my all-time favourites. It features well-choreographed clumsiness, happily recurring gags like M. Hulot's misleading footprints, falling taffy, an entertainingly squeaky door, car trouble, and the noisy nights of a seaside town.
There is very little dialogue, so I would not recommend it for people who want witty reparte. Otherwise, however, I think everyone should watch it.
