Review of Monsieur Hulot's Holiday (1953) by Him C — 12 May 2009
Frankly, I 've just watched only one Jacque Tati's film before , "playtime". And I just found it boring at that time. But tonight, I felt joyful in watching this early-Tati film. It seems Tati loved to explore the fun in the repetition of "city sounds".
This tendency is not only shown in the "Playtime" , but also in this hilarious film. Before I go see the movie, I couldn't imagine a 1950's French movie being able to make me laugh. Chaplin's style act matches with the unique rythm of sounds of daily life.
.. it's just fabulous. I just wonder if I will feel great if I watch "playtime" once again.
