Review of Monkey Shines (1988) by Sally A — 26 Aug 2009
I bought this on DVD because it has been released with an awesome new cover that reminded me of that Stephen King story 'The Monkey'. I had seen this many moons ago but watching it again it is actually really quite good.
Its quite a classy little thriller with a decent cast. The final conflict scene is actually utterly hilarious (not that it is meant to be but that makes it even funnier 'You Filth!') making for a bit of comic relief.
Its a bit corny and predictable but very worthwhile for genre fans and more particularly Romero fans.
