Review of Monkey Business (1952) by Rachel M — 03 Dec 2013
Pretty funny, but dated by what was acceptable at the time. I'd like to see a remake of this (with Clooney perhaps?), with a better script but still with its goofy flavor. Luckily you had two great comedic actors in Cary Grant and Ginger Rogers to keep the dated material fresh and mostly funny.
When each of them first take the potion, their "youth spree(s)" are both kind of letdowns, again due to what would have been allowed for the times, but it would have been nice to have been a little more risqué.
And when you have Marilyn Monroe mostly wasted in her part and don't "do what you could do" with her role, then it definitely a mounts to wasted potential.
