Review of Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan (2007) by Matt E — 10 Mar 2009
A semi-fascinating look at the early years of one history's most interesting tyrants. Genghas Khan's story is told in epic fashion and poetic style that leaves most Hollywood "epics" in the dust.
Though it is an action/war movie, it will deter that crowd because it has subtitles and it isn't Passion of the Christ. However, if you're looking for a true epic that dazzles, thrills, and exceeds expectations, then Mongol is your movie.
You may be left wanting more by the end, but doesn't that mean what's already there is great? I hope to see a second part made that completes the story.
