Review of Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan (2007) by Dan Y — 17 Jun 2010
Beautiful landscapes. A somewhat interesting story, but with too many moments that leave one asking "Why did they let him live?" Certain themes that would have elevated the movie's plot are touched on by the filmmakers but are just not much explored.
The battle scenes are generally rather intense and well done and so this film's production quality is rather impressive. Worth seeing even if it can't be expected to be the standard by which other films about Ghengis Khan are judged.
