Thought Genghis Khan was blood thirsty? that he was a savage, thought that he killed because he liked the powerful feeling it gave him? your wrong, he's was actually a pretty chill dude, to his followers anyway (apparently).

Mongol takes a look behind the legend of the great khan, into his love life, and his family values (yes he valued his family....(apparently). Do not be alarmed though, as it has plenty of brisk battle scenes.

Tadanobu Asano plays his character of the great khan admirably by saying a lot even when he's not talking. My only outright complaint is that there seems to be a lot of digital effects where there probably wasn't a need for them, as they give the film a fantasy feel when its actually very heavily grounded in reality.
