A great, entertaining movie. A Best Picture of the year? Of course not. Like my brother said, it's not even one of the ten best baseball movies of all time. It was great having Brad Pitt play Brad Pitt and having Jonah Hill provide comic relief.

Everyone loves a bromance between a jock and a fat statistics nerd. And everyone loves baseball. I distinctly remember watching ESPN as the A's were on their winning streak that summer because it was right when I got back from my mission and I was excited to again be able to watch TV in general and follow sports in particular.

I have some problems with the movie though. I wish I could take credit for making this observation, but I read it from some sports writer back in the fall when the movie came out. He made a stink about how the movie neglects to mention that Miguel Tejada had a monster year in 2002 and how they had the best pitching rotation with Zito-Hudson-Mulder.

It's a great point and it taints any movie that tells the story of the 2002 Oakland A's to leave them out.
