Review of Money Monster (2016) by Darren C — 29 May 2016
I won't bury the lead - it's beyond simply an inept attempt at a thriller. It's a waste of star talent, your time and money. It's the plot that could have some meat to it - we've seen this before in other films.
This is a good example of how a director with a name (Jodie Foster) can get a film like this to a major distributor (Sony TriStar) and get it on screens nationally - without really having much substance to the movie.
Conclusion: don't see this at the theatre. Maybe if you see it come up on Netflix someday or a cable channel should you consider wasting your time.
