Review of Money Monster (2016) by Jack S — 10 Aug 2016
My main critique aims at their belief that stock trading programs are beyond human comprehension. It's really simple, you buy low and sell high. Just make sure the program only buys within standard deviation above the lowest point (not below) and sells anywhere near the highest point.
All you need is stock trading histories and you've got a money tree that manages thousands of trades every second. By the nature of broad portfolios you literally can't lose money on the whole.
That's why over 80% of stock trades are done by these programs, with no human involvement necessary. The physical stock exchange is just a glamorous set like the one in this movie.
