Review of Mona Lisa (1973) by Trevor H — 11 May 2010
Like all of neil jordans films that ive seen, its well shot and has a good score, the acting is great too, ive always liked hoskins and hes really good here, in his most substantial role that ive seen him in, hes got good chemistry with tyson, who looks very pretty here, also good to see robbie coltrane in a non hagrid role, I was with the story most of the way, tho I didnt buy that george didnt know she was a call girl, I had thought it was obvious, also I hate it when in movies men get mad at women for doing dirty things even tho its part of their job/ or in the past, I mean shes a call girl, what do you expect, the ending also got a bit muddled, maybe because I couldnt understand some of the british accents, overall a solid film, wish there was more hoskins/tyson scenes.
