Review of Mon Oncle (1958) by Matt K — 02 Oct 2008
Kind of disapponting. I see where he was going with the "modernity vs M. Hulot" thing, but I think it works 1000 times better in Playtime. Given that, there are a bunch of really great set pieces and sight gags, I especially love M.
Hulot's house where you never know which window he's going to appear in next as he travels from the ground floor to the roof! I will probably like this better on the second viewing.
