Review of Moms' Night Out (2014) by Jessica D — 20 May 2014

I loved this movie. I completely disagree with critics that accuse it of being sexist. Just being a stay at home mom does not equal a repressive, gender based stereotyping of women. This movie is about the struggles of being a mom, regardless of whether you work outside of the home or are a stay at home mom.

The main character's struggles as a mom are relatable and real. The movie is so clean in content I could barely believe it, because it was still hilarious without all the filth usually included. The movie also managed to not be preachy or judgmental in anyway.

However, if you are offended by the word "church", it's probably not for you, but if you are open and focus on the moms' relationships and the fun resulting from her night out gone wrong, you will love this movie! My theater roared with laughter, men and women alike, and I think you will too.

Give it a chance and I think you will come out of it like I did, feeling encouraged and understood (as a mom particularly).
