Review of Mommie Dearest (1981) by Jim C — 22 Oct 2009
Infinitely rewatchable movie, mostly due to its inability to settle on a genre. It's a searing character study one moment and then a side splitting farce the next. As John Waters says, "It's the only comedy about child abuse.
" Faye Dunaway is absolutely wonderful and astoundingly horrible at the same time.
