Review of Mommie Dearest (1981) by Kathy M — 20 May 2012

I read the book and couldn't wait for the movie. If I recall correctly, the movie makers tried to explain Joan's actions as back then a woman had to be strong to continue t workl in Hollyweird over the age of 30--and Joan Crawford made her own way! Of course we only have Christina's version as this movie was based on her book.

The other children who were adopted by Crawford have different tales to tell and of course mrs. Crawford isn't here to tell her own story. I thought Faye Dunaway WAS Joan Crawford, though. She had the look for sure!
